Neko Clock

Privacy Policy

Neko Clock never sends your location or records off your device. Ads are served by Google AdMob.

Your location, cat sightings and notification settings are used only on this device. There is no account, no analytics and no developer server. The app shows Google AdMob ads at the top of the screen, and Google receives information from your device to serve them (see “Ads” below). You can remove ads with the one-time “Remove ads” purchase. Last updated: 2 November 2026.

What the app uses, and where it goes

DataWhyWhere it goes
Your approximate location To work out sunrise and sunset, which set cat time and the day's schedule. Used only when you choose “Use Current Location”. You can pick a city instead. Only this device (the app and its home screen widget).
Your cat sightings Date and time, the approximate place where you recorded it, how you met, the cat's name, the place name and your note. Used for your list of records, the chart by cat time and “When You Usually Meet”. Only this device.
Notification settings To remind you shortly before the time you usually meet or before a hunting time. Notifications are scheduled and shown by your device. Only this device.
Data shared with the widget Sunrise and sunset times used to calculate cat time, and the text the widget shows. Only this device (a storage area shared by the app and its widget).
Information used for ads To serve ads. Your IP address (used to estimate an approximate region), ad views and taps, diagnostic information, and your advertising identifier (on iPhone and iPad, only if you allow tracking). Google (AdMob).
Purchases To buy or restore “Remove ads”. The app only remembers on your device whether you bought it. Processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play).

The developer receives none of this data. The only things that leave your device are the information Google receives to serve ads and the information Apple or Google handles for purchases. Your approximate location and your records are never used for ads and are never given to Google.

Ads

The app shows Google AdMob ads at the top of the screen. For how Google handles the information it receives to serve ads, see Google's Privacy Policy.

  • On iPhone and iPad, ads are personalized using your advertising identifier only if you allow tracking when the app asks. If you don't, you still get ads, just not personalized ones, and every feature still works. You can change this later in your device's Settings.
  • On Android, Google may use your device's advertising ID. You can reset or delete it in your device settings.
  • Where consent is required, such as the European Economic Area and the UK, the app asks for your consent before showing ads. You can change your answer from “Ad privacy settings” in the app.
  • If you buy the one-time “Remove ads”, ads are no longer shown. Payment is processed by Apple or Google; the developer receives no payment information.

What is stored

The on-device data in the table, and whether you bought “Remove ads”, are stored in the app's own storage and are removed when you delete the app (you can get “Remove ads” back with “Restore purchase”). You can delete records one by one from the list, and you can delete cat names and place names (the records stay; only the name is removed from them).

If you use device backups (such as iCloud Backup or Google's backup), the operating system may include this app's data in them.

Permissions

Location (approximate, while using the app)
Optional. Requested only when you choose “Use Current Location”. Without it, you can pick a city. Cat time barely changes over a kilometre, so the app does not use your precise location.
Notifications
Optional. Requested only when you turn on “Notify Me” in the app.
Alarms & reminders (Android)
Optional. Used only to show notifications on time. Without it, notifications may arrive early.
Tracking (iPhone and iPad)
Optional. Used only to show ads that are more relevant to you. Every feature works without it.

Children

The app is not directed at children.
